Handling & Wear Guidelines
Remove When Necessary: Engagement rings are durably designed for everyday wear but they are not indestructible. Avoid wearing your ring during activities that could expose it to impacts, pressure, or harsh chemicals, such as:
- heavy lifting or manual labor
- gardening or gym workouts
- cleaning with bleach, ammonia, or abrasive products
- applying lotions, perfumes, or hair products directly onto the ring
- consider removing it when cooking, washing hands, or sleeping to reduce buildup and accidental damage
Remove With Care: Always take off your ring by the band, not the center stone or setting.
Thoughtful Storage: When not wearing your ring, store it in a fabric-lined box or soft pouch, ideally separate from other jewelry to avoid scratches. Avoid tossing it in handbags or pockets where it could get knocked around.
Cleaning & Maintenance
At-Home Cleaning:
- Soak in a solution of warm water and mild dish soap for 15–20 minutes.
- Use a soft toothbrush to gently clean behind the setting and around the prongs.
- Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
*** avoid harsh cleaners, never use toothpaste, baking soda, at home ultrasonic or steam cleaners
Professional Routine Checks (Every ~6 months):
Have your ring professionally cleaned and inspected for loose stones, worn prongs, or thinning bands. Prongs should be secure and even; a loose or bent prong increases the risk of stone loss.
Professional Repolishing & Rhodium Plating:
All metals can benefit from light polishing to remove surface scratches and restore shine. White gold rings may need rhodium replating every 1–2 years to restore their bright, silvery finish.
